athcart Trucking began in 1983 when Bryan Cathcart took over Ottor Freightways. When Bryan took over and gave it the new name, the wheels turned into success. The company shot up from 2 trucks and 3 employees into 26 tractors, 16 straight frames, 65 trailers, and 35/40 full and part time employees. Employees include those that work for Apsley-Peterborough Transport, a part of Cathcart Trucking.

As time passed, the business went from making trails around town into going anywhere in Ontario, such as delivering for American owned Appleton Papers for the last 22 years. Since Appleton started keeping track in 1990, they have noticed something outstanding about Cathcart Trucking. "We're going on our 18th year of 100% On-Time Deliveries in the province of Ontario," says Bryan. "There's been over 84,000 deliveries across Ontario, and everyone of them has been delivered the day they were supposed to, AND ON TIME; That's led us to more customers."

Bryan is proud of his award-winning employees who will go through "snowing and blowing" to get it there on time. In fact Cathcart trucking has won the Eagle Club Award for On Time Delivery for the past 18 years- The only Canadian carrier to win this award every year!
"We have some really good employees that strive to do what's right for the customer," he says. "It amazes me some days what lengths they will go to, to make the customer happy."

ith business growing at a rapid rate Bryan welcomed then 5 year employee Denise Mc Cullough on as a full time partner in the business to both allow Bryan more personal time and promote Cathcart Truckings' growth.


Starting out as a part time office employee Denise realized quickly that she had indeed found her niche.



Building on the strength of the customer service reputation Cathcart trucking had developed, Denise combined her enthusiasm, customer service skills, and experience to increase the client roster, expand the fleet and employees.


When you ask Denise where she would like to be in 5 years she will smile and tell you "Right here, in Peterborough keeping our customers happy", a trait that has become the hallmark of Cathcart Trucking, happy clientele.

Cathcart Trucking is small enough to do the little things, but big enough to compete with big companies. Besides reasonable prices, customers also get super service. "We have some of the same customers since we've started. Usually, once we have a new customer they stay with us because we look after them and treat them well." Cathcart Trucking also deals with a lot of family owned companies because they like the hands-on attitude of Bryan and Denise, which is similar to theirs.


"I love Peterborough, I've lived here all my life" and that's why Bryan plans to stay at his location at 665 Neal Drive Peterborough Ontario, for a long time down the road.
